These terms apply when you buy a painting from this website, and when you use the site. Please read them before you buy.
Who sells the paintings
Paintings on this site are sold by Val Davis, trading as Valoncanvas, of Sydney, Australia. You can contact Val at valmark@bigpond.net.au.
The paintings
Every painting is an original and there is only one of each. The photos are as true to the paintings as possible, but colours can look different from screen to screen. Sizes are in centimetres, width by height.
Prices and payment
Prices are in Australian dollars. Val is not registered for GST, so no GST is charged.
Payment is taken by Stripe on its own secure page. This site never sees your card details. When you start paying, the painting is held for you for 35 minutes so nobody else can buy it; if the payment isn’t completed, it becomes available again. Your purchase is confirmed when the payment succeeds and you see the confirmation page.
Delivery
Val delivers within Australia only. Paintings are taken off their stretcher bars and sent rolled in a sturdy tube, with tracking, at a flat rate for your state that you choose at checkout (see Delivery and returns). You will need to have a rolled painting re-stretched or framed to hang it. Or pick up your painting in Sydney for free, ready to hang on its stretchers: Val will arrange a time with you. Outside Australia, please enquire.
Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
Nothing in these terms takes away those rights.
Returns and damage
Val doesn’t accept returns for change of mind, so please choose carefully.
If your painting arrives damaged or isn’t as described, please tell Val within 7 days of delivery, with photos, at valmark@bigpond.net.au. She will repair, replace or refund it, in line with your rights above.
Copyright
Val keeps the copyright in her paintings. Under Australian copyright law, buying a painting gives you the painting itself, not the right to make copies of it (for example prints).
Using this site
You are welcome to look around and to share links to any page. Please don’t copy the images or text for any other use without Val’s permission. How this site handles your information is explained in the Privacy page.
The law that applies
These terms are governed by the law of New South Wales, Australia.
