About the artist

Hi, I’m Val Davis. I’m an abstract mixed media painter working from my studio in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs. Originally from South Africa, I’ve called Australia home for the last 30 years. My work on canvas is a celebration of these two incredible worlds. I love playing with the juxtaposition of my roots and my present: blending the majestic light of the African bush, the freedom of the wildlife and the energy of its people with the big blue skies, sun-drenched bays, and stunning oceans of the Australian coast.
